Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement of Man with Van Brockley
Man with Van Brockley is committed to conducting business in an honest, ethical and responsible manner. We recognise our responsibility to identify, prevent and address modern slavery and human trafficking risks in our operations and supply chains. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we are taking to uphold that responsibility and to support the protection of fundamental human rights.
Modern slavery includes forced labour, bonded labour, servitude, human trafficking, child labour and all forms of exploitation where individuals are coerced, deceived or threatened. We acknowledge that these abuses can exist in any country and sector, including logistics, transport and ancillary services connected to our work.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. Man with Van Brockley will not knowingly engage with or support any business or individual that is involved in these practices. Any confirmed instance of modern slavery connected to our activities will lead to decisive action, which may include terminating contracts, reporting concerns to relevant authorities and cooperating fully with any investigation.
All directors, employees, casual workers and contractors are expected to uphold this policy. We also expect our business partners to share the same commitment and to comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws.
Governance and Responsibility
Overall responsibility for our approach to modern slavery rests with the leadership of Man with Van Brockley. Management is responsible for implementing and reviewing our policies, assessing risk, and ensuring that staff and suppliers understand the standards we require. Supervisors and team leaders are responsible for promoting awareness of this statement and escalating any concerns without delay.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Standards
Our supply chain mainly involves vehicle providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and materials suppliers, as well as third-party service providers. We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and demonstrate respect for human rights and fair working conditions.
We expect our suppliers to ensure that all work is freely chosen, that workers are of legal working age, that wages meet or exceed legal minimums, that working hours are reasonable, and that workers are treated with dignity and respect. We are clear that any form of forced labour, debt bondage, retention of identity documents, or unlawful recruitment fees is unacceptable.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
We are strengthening our supplier due diligence and monitoring processes to help identify and manage modern slavery risks. These measures include assessing new and existing suppliers on their labour practices, requesting information and documentation to evidence compliance with modern slavery legislation, and reserving the right to conduct audits or site visits, where appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk.
Where we identify concerns, we will work with suppliers to agree corrective actions and timeframes. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to make necessary improvements, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Training and Awareness
We aim to improve awareness of modern slavery risks among staff and key contractors. Training and guidance will focus on recognising signs of exploitation, understanding our zero-tolerance expectations, and knowing how to raise concerns. By building knowledge and vigilance, we aim to reduce the likelihood that exploitation can occur in connection with our services.
Reporting Channels and Protection
Man with Van Brockley encourages anyone connected with our business, including workers, contractors, suppliers and customers, to report any concern relating to modern slavery or human trafficking. Concerns may relate to our own operations or to any part of our supply chain.
Reports can be made to a manager or to senior management. All concerns raised in good faith will be taken seriously, treated sensitively and, where appropriate, investigated. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment against anyone who raises a concern or participates in an investigation.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous improvement. We are committed to reviewing and updating our policies, procedures and risk assessments so that they remain effective and proportionate to our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every year. As part of the annual review, we will consider any incidents reported, audit outcomes, changes in legislation and best practice guidance. We will use these insights to strengthen our controls and to enhance training, supplier engagement and internal awareness.
By implementing this Modern Slavery Statement, Man with Van Brockley affirms its commitment to acting ethically and to playing its part in the wider effort to eliminate modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms.
